Bur Oak

Large tree. Grows best on moist to well drained soils. Reproduces from stump sprouts and seed. Low shade tolerance. Produces seed almost annually. Acorns mature by early fall with a cap attached. An excellent source of food for wildlife. Used for ornamental planting, lumber and firewood. 100+ year lifespan.
